The US-Israeli attacks on Iran have triggered swift retaliatory attacks from Tehran, targeting their assets in multiple Middle East countries, including Israel, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Oman.
Analysts are warning of a spike in global oil prices after Iranian officials hinted at shutting down the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important maritime routes in the world.

En primer lugar,
La expresión Gente de mar es anacrónica, despectiva, evoca remotos tiempos de invasiones que llegaban a través de la mar. En ningún caso es representativa de las profesiones marítimas; por lo que procede sustituirla por Marina Civil. El convenio debería titularse:
Convenio Internacional sobre normas de Formación, Titulación y Guardia para profesionales de la Marina Civil.
A mayor abundamiento,
Anualmente el día 25 de junio establecido por la Organización Marítima Internacional se celebra el Día del Marino (IMO), como se hace constar en la correspondiente documentación editada por OMI sin embargo, en España, las autoridades “responsables” lo traducen por Gente Mar. Toda una demostración palpable del gran respeto y consideración que sienten hacia los marinos civiles.

Este foro está promovido por EMSA, Frontex y EFCA y formado por 30 países de la UE y del espacio europeo Schengen. La Dirección General de la Marina Mercante (DGMM), del Ministerio de Transportes y Movilidad Sostenible, presentó la candidatura en el último encuentro del Foro, celebrado en Lisboa. En este Foro están implicados diversos organismos con competencias en el ámbito de guardacostas, como la Secretaría General de Pesca, la Dirección Adjunta de Vigilancia Aduanera (DAVA), la Guardia Civil, Salvamento Marítimo y la DG Marina Mercante, entre otros.
