Señala que “si alguna medida puede tener impacto en el desarrollo del transporte marítimo, su competitividad y su contribución al desarrollo económico europeo es el fomento y potenciación de las autopistas del mar”.

Nautilus is taking part in a conference in May which concludes a European Union-funded project to investigate ways of improving the recruitment and retention of merchant seafarers.
The three-year KNOWME project has tackled topics such as the image of shipping, retention in the maritime industry, improving working and living conditions for seafarers, innovative maritime education and training policies, and the future of maritime education and training.
Launched in line with the EU’s Maritime Transport Strategy 2009-2018, the 11-partner project was set up to address the growing shortage of European maritime professionals, and investigated ways of improving the image of shipping and the attractiveness of careers at sea and in the maritime sector.
