EPI, el grupo empresarial público que presideBelén Gualda, volvió el pasado ejercicio a beneficios tras encadenar años en pérdidas. La entidad adscrita al Ministerio de Hacienda logró ganancias de 159 millones, favorecido por los dividendos que percibió de participadas comoRedeia,Enagás o Ebro Foods, y de un mejor comportamiento de sus propias empresas. Sin embargo, de las 15 en las que cuenta con una participación mayoritaria, solamente cinco consiguieron acabar el año con un resultado positivo.

South Korea: Avikus autonomous navigation tech picked for 23 large ships

Avikus, an autonomous navigation solutions startup founded by South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group in late 2020, has been contracted by two compatriot shipping companies to install an autonomous navigation solution for large vessels.
LNG carrier Prism Courage, built by HHI and delivered to SK Shipping in 2021Avikus’ Level 2 autonomous navigation solution, known as HiNAS 2.0, will be supplied to SK Shipping and Sinokor Merchant Marine.
The contract is “the world’s largest order for ship autonomous navigation control solution”, according to Dohyeong Lim, CEO of Avikus.
“In fact, it is the first in the world to mass-produce an advanced navigation assistant solution capable of controlling ships,” Lim added.
Another double delivery of SMST gangway and crane for Acta Marine

Once again Acta Marine is equipping two newbuild Construction Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) with SMST mission equipment. The close cooperation between the two parties is reaffirmed by the contract signed with Tersan Shipyard for a modular W2W system package. The equipment will be at the operational heart of both vessels, securing optimal logistics and safe and efficient transfer of personnel and cargo.
“We are very pleased to be part of the two next generation Methanol MDO/HVO powered CSOVs for Acta that will be built at Tersan Shipyard”, says Menno de Jong, Sales Manager at SMST. “For us the contract is a testimony of proven quality and solid performance of our W2W and cargo handling equipment on board Acta Auriga and Acta Centaurus.”
