La importación de frutas y hortalizas frescas por parte de la Unión Europea desde países no comunitarios se ha incrementado hasta septiembre de 2023, alcanzando los 13.907 millones de euros. Esto representa una subida del 12% en comparación con el mismo periodo del año anterior. Marruecos, con un valor de 1.833 millones de euros, encabeza la lista de proveedores, seguido por Sudáfrica y Perú, con 1.544 y 1.361 millones de euros respectivamente.
