Newbuild vessel prices indicate the future rates of Capesize, Panamax, and Handymax/Supramax due to the long construction period. A dry bulk vessel takes almost two or three-plus years to build, and each costs ~$60 million plus. These prices indicate the longer term fundamentals of the dry bulk shipping industry supply and demand.
For bulk carriers, Capesize vessel prices stood at $53.3 million in January 2015 compared to $54.2 million in December 2014 as compared to $53.5 million in January 2014. From January 2013, Kamsarmax and Ultramax vessel prices recorded $28.6 million and $26.4 million, respectively, as compared to $29.0 million and $27.2 million, respectively, in the previous month.

Un trabajador de una subcontrata del astillero gijonés de Armón ha fallecido este miércoles en un accidente laboral, según ha confirmado la Policía y el Servicio de Emergencias del Principado de Asturias (SEPA). Según las primeras informaciones, el hombre, que trabajaba a gran altura, se golpeó la cabeza con un cable y chocó con una grúa.
Fue a las 12.07 horas cuando los servicios de emergencia recibieran una llamada en la que testigos indicaban que un trabajador de unos astilleros, que se encontraba trabajando en una grúa, a unos 10-15 metros de altura, se había accidentado y parecía que estaba atrapado en la torre.

La Mesa de Contratación de la Diputación Provincial de Toledo resolvió el día 13 la nueva licitación para la construcción del buque turístico.
A la segunda licitación solo han concurrido dos empresas, la que resultó adjudicataria en septiembre y la que recurrió esa resolución y logró anularla.
