El Consejo de Gobierno del centro académico ha dado su visto bueno a la impartición en el próximo curso 2026-72

La Universidad de La Laguna continúa paulatinamente renovando su catálogo de títulos. Hoy 27 de abril el Consejo de Gobierno del centro académico ha dado su visto bueno a la impartición el próximo curso 2026-27 del Doble Grado en Náutica, Transporte Marítimo y Tecnologías Marinas, con un total de 330 créditos y una duración de cinco años, 20 plazas por curso y un único Trabajo de Fin de Grado.

Este doble grado se sumaría a la nómina de títulos del mismo tenor que ya se  están impartiendo desde este año, a saber: Bellas Artes y Diseño; Español: Lengua y Literatura y en Estudios Clásicos; Estudios

DRAGGING ANCHOR

Dragging anchor is the term used when the anchor system loses its holding power, causing the vessel to move uncontrollably. This loss can occur rapidly, particularly when weather conditions or currents are severe. It is a critical situation that often requires swift action to regain control of the ship.

Masters and the Merchant Shipping Act

A recent Workboat Association Safety Forum highlighted concern over the lack of awareness among Masters working in UK waters of the full extent of their legal responsibilities. Stephen Angove, CJC Senior Associate & Master Mariner was among the invited speakers.

July’s safety statistics from the Workboat Association covering 2013-2024 provided another example of the excellent work the UK body does to support best practice. In addition, the figures show a welcome continuous decline in ‘Total Exposure Hours’ to incidents from 2018 onwards, with 2023 numbers also half those logged in 2014.

However, many of those in charge of operating workboats in UK waters (whether they refer to themselves as Skipper, Captain, or Master)
