Un golpe de mar arranca parte de la amura de un barco de la línea pitiusa

El ´Blau de Formentera´ navegaba hacia Ibiza cuando una gran ola elevó su popa y «la proa se llenó de tanta agua» que la presión arrancó un tramo de más de cuatro metros de la amura de estribor

El pesquero "MI LALITA" , con base en Almería ha quedado al garete al SW de Cabo Roca. Ha acudido en su auxilio la embarcación de salvamento marítimo "DENEBOLA" y lo remolcado hasta el puerto de Almería.

Salvamento Marítimo que dispone de los detalles del accidente, continúa su política de limitar la información que trasmite a los medios.

Calls to Execute Captain of South Korean Ferry “Barbaric”

The International Organization of Masters, Mates, & Pilots (MM&P) has voiced alarm at reports that prosecutors in South Korea are seeking the death penalty for the captain of the ferry Sewol, which sank in April killing more than 300 people.

Prosecutors have charged Captain Lee Joon-seok with homicide for leaving the vessel “without making any efforts to rescue passengers” and have asked that he be put to death. They are seeking life sentences for three other members of the crew and terms of between 15 and 30 years for 11 crew members who were tried on lesser charges.

IFSMA: Sewol captain's sentence is too severe

International Federation of Shipmasters' Associations (IFSMA) has termed the sentence of Sewol ferry captain as a "travesty of justice".

Lee Joon-seok, captain of the sunken South Korean ferry was sentenced to 36 years in prison by the South Korean court for gross negligence over deaths of more than 300 people. IFSMA felt that the sentence of 36 years was "too severe" for the 69-year-old captain Lee.
