Esta imagen ha sido obtenida de un libro oficial publicado por el Ministerio de Instrucción Pública y Bellas Artes en el año 1929. En ella se representa la partida desde el muelle de las Muelas, al pie de la Torre del Oro, en Sevilla, el día 10 de agosto de 2019.
El viaje, financiado por la Corona Española, había sido organizado bajo la tutela del obispo Juan Rodríguez Fonseca.
Los nombramientos realizados por Fonseca envenenarían la convivencia de aquella flota, dando lugar a graves conflictos que terminarían en hechos sangrientos.
