El Puerto de Pasaia es el que más está viendo aumentar su actividad este año. El tráfico de mercancías gestionadas a través de la dársena guipuzcoana creció en el primer semestre un 24,5%, al situarse en 1,72 millones de toneladas, según el balance hecho público ayer por la sociedad pública Puertos del Estado, que ofrece los datos de los 28 recintos portuarios bajo su control y que en el caso de Pasaia ajusta ligeramente las cifras que hace un mes ofreció de forma adelantada la Autoridad Portuaria pasaitarra, que cifraba los tránsitos en

A multi-million dollar contract was signed at a formal ceremony in Shanghai yesterday between major UK port operator, Peel Ports, and engineering firm, ZPMC, helping to boost future bilateral trade opportunities between China and the UK, the company said in its press release.

Peel Ports Group is investing over $512 million (£300 million) to redevelop and expand the existing Port of Liverpool in the North-west of England, creating Liverpool2, a new deep-water port which will be able to accommodate 95% of the world’s container fleet, including the post-Panamax vessels that will travel through the expanded Panama Canal when it opens in 2015.

El tráfico en los puertos españoles crece un 3,8 hasta mayo

Este aumento se debió, en gran medida, a los graneles sólidos (9,6%).
De enero a mayo, el tráfico en los puertos de interés general del Estado subió un 3,8% en comparación con el mismo periodo del año anterior, hasta las 193.977.417 toneladas. Según informan desde Puertos del Estado, este crecimiento se debió, sobre todo, al buen comportamiento de los graneles sólidos, que crecieron un 9,6% (33,8 millones de toneladas).

Aunque los datos aún son provisionales, parece que los puertos españoles mantienen la tendencia positiva de 2014: en enero, los 46 puertos de interés general movieron 37.796.189 toneladas de mercancías, lo que supuso el tercer mejor registro de la historia, y entre enero y abril el tráfico de mercancías creció un 5,1%.
