Marina Mercante

Eromosele Abiodun examines the United Nations’ Conference on Trade and Development Review of Maritime Transport, submitting that the long-term growth prospects for seaborne trade and maritime businesses are positive

Before now, the global maritime business was dominated by Western countries. Aside expert’s position on the development, the review of maritime transport 2016, published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), this month, laid credence to this.

The review however, outlined a cautiously upbeat view of global shipping over the years ahead. This is correct because just before the election of Donald Trump as president of the

Ships technology

I'm just surprised there aren't more accidents.”

Graveson is speaking on the topic of human failure on ships; the hook being a report

An autonomous work boat, C-Worker 7, has become the first ever unmanned vessel to fly the UK flag.

The UK Ship Register (UKSR) is part of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and lays claim to being among the best performing flags in the major Port State Control regimes.

Although autonomous vessels are now being introduced to many fleets in both commercial and military sectors across the world, they are still relatively new in the maritime sector.

C-Worker 7 will be used for work such as subsea positioning, surveying and environmental monitoring.

It is owned by ASV, the UK a supplier of unmanned marine systems for military, security, offshore energy and scientific applications.

It can be used
