The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has released a Marine Information Note (MIN) outlining the requirements for deck officers wishing to use yacht service as a qualifying sea service towards the issue of an Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC).

Designed to clarify the sea service requirements, the MIN states that all yacht service must be submitted in the form of either yacht service testimonials (which can be found in the MIN’s Annex, at the end of the downloadable document) supported by a Discharge book or an MCA-approved log book. Fiestas navideñas, comidas familiares y siestas en el sofá. Los navegantes de la Barcelona World Race también son humanos y disfrutan de estos placeres, antes de zarpar el próximo miércoles, 31 de diciembre, para dar la vuelta al mundo a dos y sin escalas. Algunos trabajarán incluso hoy, pero muchos de los 16 skippers dedican esta jornada a la familia –de la que se separarán durante tres meses- y al descanso –que también durante 90 días estará limitado-.

Durante la circunnavegación del globo, a dos y sin escalas, los regatistas duermen en períodos de 2-3-4 horas durante tres meses seguidos. Al ser una travesía a dos, muchos podrían pensar que lo normal sería establecer turnos de ocho horas
