Los cruceros resurgen tras la pandemia impulsados por una nueva ola de viajeros jóvenes y precios competitivos, desafiando la inflación y transformando la demografía del sector.

Cruising is among the shipping segments pursuing new environmentally sensitive technologies, with exploration and luxury at the forefront. Large cruise ships have adopted LNG, scrubbers, and solar panels, while two newly launched expedition cruise ships will be among the most environmentally advanced to date.

The ASENAV shipyard in Valdivia, Chile, seeks to establish its position in the sector with the launch of the new Magellan Discoverer for the sustainable polar travel company Antarctica21. Nautilus International is backing a new initiative to improve welfare standards for superyacht crew, through its involvement in Changing Tack – a coalition of maritime charities which has entered into a formal partnership with the Superyacht Alliance (SYA).

Nautilus director of organising Martyn Gray said: 'Nautilus International, as a proud member of the Changing Tack coalition, strongly supports this new partnership with the Superyacht Alliance. This collaboration is a significant breakthrough, creating a formal and powerful platform to embed crew welfare at the very heart of the superyacht industry.'

He added: 'For too long, crew voices have struggled to reach key industry

These are mind-blowing behemoths, but it’s the prosaic detail, rather than the big-ticket opulence, that speaks loudest.
