WinGD is incredibly proud to be part of this remarkable project "More Than a Flagship, a Vision." The CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE joins the fleet: the first 23 000 TEU container vessel in the world to be powered by liquefied natural gas. A pioneering technology aimed at preserving air quality and accelerating maritime transport’s energy transition. Powered by WinGD’s 12X92DF engine.

The CMA CGM Group’s new flagship is the first of a series of nine 23 000 TEU LNG-powered container ships.

Finnlines has signed an order for two vessels from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Weihai), previously known as AVIC Weihai. Today, both shipyards are part of China Merchants Group. The two vessels will be socalled “Ro-pax ” which means the ships can both transport cars and cargo to be driven on the ship in containers or with forklifts and at the same time serve as passenger ships.

Finnlines issued an official statement regarding the purchase on 8th January 2020.

The Superstar ro-pax vessels are expected to be delivered by 2023. They will be larger than the existing Star class vessels and will be Finnlines’ flagships both in terms of size and technology. With

Most of newbuilding service vessels have state-of-art facilities. Due to tough weather conditions of operation areas, vessel’s technologies are changing and developing day by day. On the other hand, due to the different type of difficulties encountered in the offshore market, vessel’s facilities or concepts are always evolving.

Lowering cost and emission with a safer working area is the core of investments for new technologies in the marine industry so trends have to meet firstly these main objectives. Expectations from concept designs are consisting of innovative solutions with energy efficiency and strategies to reduce operation and maintenance cost including systems such as energy storage systems and frequency controlled electrical configurations, automatic controlled waste heat

Australia’s Global Energy Ventures revealed today the design of a new compressed hydrogen ship (H2 Ship) tailored for the transport of zero-carbon energy.

The Aussie developer of global integrated marine compressed natural gas (CNG) projects anticipates that detailed engineering will be lodged as part of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Approval in Principle process in early 2021.

The ship and its cargo system are in the patent process.

The H2 Ship is designed to have a storage capacity of up to 2,000 tonnes (23 million m3) of compressed hydrogen.

The containment system will include ambient temperature hydrogen at a target pressure of 3,600 psi (or 250 bar).

The Australian company said it would evaluate smaller capacity ships
